Smallville, Season Nine: ChloeAfter Yvonne gave and recieved an endorcement at the premiere of the third season of Chuck, it should come to no surprize that Chuck's leading lady Sarah Walker took away the grand prize.

However, fret not because Smallville's own leading lady, Allison Mack, came in 2nd out of 128 of the most amazing female characters/actresses on television currently beating out shows like House, Lost, V, Gossip Girl, and Grey's Anatomy; she was the face of the CW and as the E! Online winning announcement says it was actually quite close:

Millions of votes were cast, and in the end, Yvonne's Chuck character, Sarah Walker, defeated Allison Mack's Chloe Sullivan from the CW's Smallville, 52 percent to 48 percent.

Congradulations to both Allison Mack and Yvonne Strahovski, it's amazing that both cult favorites made it so far and are so beloved by their fanbases.

E! Online Girl On Top: The Final ShowdownAfter doging one last bullet in the form of Lost/V's Elizabeth Mitchel, Allison Mack has made it to the grand arena against Yvonne Strahovski from Chuck.  As E! Online puts it:

This is it, TV fans! The final showdown of Girl on Top has arrived, and it's a face-off between two cult heroines: Clark Kent's Girl Friday Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack) from the long-running series Smallville versus spy babe Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski) from beloved action-comedy Chuck.

E! Online Girl On Top: Elite EightAllison Mack/Chloe Sullivan has managed to slip around not one but two Grey's Anatomy favorites to make it to the Elite Eight, and we think E! sums up the situation of the run off nicely:

All we have to say about this Elite Eight round of Girl on Top is ouch, ouch, ouch and ouch, because the matchups are downright painful for us die-hard TV fans.

Two CW faves are going head-to-head in the first game: How are we supposed to decide between Smallville's Chloe (Allison Mack) and Gossip Girl's Blair (Leighton Meester)?!

E! Online Girl On Top: Sweet SixteenAllison Mack managed to take out Sara Ramirez in the last round of E! Online's Girl on Top but now she's up against another Grey's Anatomy starlet - Jessica Capshaw.  Out of all the CW representation nominated, only Allison Mack and Leighton Meester remain - and should they both win, are headed to take on each other.

E! Online Girl On Top: Round TwoE! Online has entered round two of it's Girl On Top poll, and of the three Smallville contestants that made it to Round One, only Allison Mack/Chloe Sullivan remains.  After taking out Ugly Betty, her next step is against Grey's Anatomy/Callie Torres.

We're crossing our fingers for everyone's favorite newsie as Grey's Anatomy and Gossip Girl have both been taking out their competition left and right (it's fitting to note that both shows took out our other two Smallville nominees).

TWoP's Biggest Disappointments: Smallville Season NineTelevision Without Pity put out their list for the Biggest Disappointments on Television in 2009; Smallville both being picked up for and the execution of it's ninth season made the list.  Other stand outs included were the fake-out "Huddy" ship on House, "everything" about Dollhouse, the ending season of Battlestar Galatica, cancelation of The Sarah Conner Chronicles, and Paula leaving American Idol.

Here's the write up on Smallville,  pointing out not only the disappointment in renewal but on how the plot lines since Al Gough & Miles Millar left just do not work, with the new show runners failing attempts to reboot the series into what it's "supposed" to be rather than fulfilling what it is/was (emphasis ours):

Girl On Top Tournament ContendersE! Online is doing another "Whose Your Favorite Actor" run off poll over the holidays, only this time, it's for the actresses.  As it says on their web site:

We learned from the first tournament that you guys want some control over who is included in the brackets, so we're offering up 128 of the best female characters on TV for an initital selection round. This means you guys can decide who should be included in Girl on Top and at what rank they enter the initial 64-contestant tournament.

The 128 initial names have been divided into four groups of 32. You should vote for your faves in every group, and we'll automatically include the top 12 names in each group at that rank. We're reserving the last four slots in each group for "editor's choice," which allows for both whismy and for write-in votes to get some play.

So far it looks like all three of Smallville's ladies are in play, and all in different categories so hopefully they won't be run against each other if anyone makes it to the round of the tournament's sixty-four contestants.

Top 100 Fictional Femmes of Genre Film and Television (2008)Pink RayGun has put Chloe Sullivan on the list of the Top 100 Fictional Femmes of Film and Television.  Although she comes in at 79, this is an epic list of women and her write up should make all Chloisers smile at the fact that Pink RayGun has exactly figured out what makes her aweomse is also what makes fans recognize her as Lois Lane (emphasis ours):

It’s a testament to her sense of humor, devotion to justice, and dogged curiosity that fans of the show assumed she was a nascent Lois Lane. Portrait's 30 Under 30 2009; Allison Mack, #21Allison has made Portrait's 30 Under 30 again, the only person from Smallville to make it.  Dubbed "Smallville's Sweetheart" they gave her a rather glowing write up at #21:

Allison’s spirituality and thoughfulness as demonstrated through her blog and other projects outside Smallville further adds to why fans love her so much.

What’s Next:Having already shown her directing skills in a previous episode of Smallville last season, Allison is set to direct another episode 9x11 “Warrior”, which will air in late January. Her production company Parvati Creative Inc., which she opened with Rosa Bhura and former Smallville co-star Kristin Kreuk, will no doubt also keep Allison busy.

BuddyTV: Allison Mack #53 on 100 Sexiest WomenBuddyTV has releast the first half of their sexiest list and Allison beat out such names as One Tree Hill's Sophia Bush, America's Next Top Model's Tyra Banks, Project Runway's Heidi Klum, Glee's Dianna Agron & Lea Michele, and The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev.

The write up even included a not-so-subtle slam at the show for taking away Allison's screentime and friendship with Clark to be replaced by another character; they do compliment the general bad-assery that Chloe is doing this year is interesting.
